How to wear a bandana
Every way below starts from one of two folds. Learn those and the rest takes a few seconds.
The two folds
-
Headband
Starts from the band
- Lay it flat and fold it corner to corner into a triangle.
- From the long edge, fold over in 3–4 cm strips until you have a band.
- Put the middle on your forehead, take the ends round to the back and knot them under your hair.
-
Classic head wrap
Starts from the triangle
- Fold it into a triangle.
- Put the long edge on your forehead with the point hanging down the back of your head.
- Tie the two ends at the back of your neck, over the point.
-
Neckerchief
Starts from the triangle
- Fold it into a triangle.
- Hang it with the point at the front, under your chin, or to one side.
- Tie the ends behind your neck. For a tighter look, use the band fold and knot it at the front.
-
Wrist
Starts from the band
- Make the band fold, but keep it narrow (about 3 cm).
- Wrap it twice round your wrist.
- Knot it, then tuck the ends under the wrap.
-
Ponytail
Starts from the band
- Tie your hair with an elastic first.
- Make the band fold and lay its middle under the elastic.
- Knot it once or twice on top and let the ends hang.
-
Belt loop or bag strap
Starts from the band
- Use the band fold, or fold it into a small triangle.
- Pass it through a belt loop or round a bag strap.
- Tie a single knot and let the print hang.
