About Sarson
Sarson (सरसों) is a printed bandana from AAVRAN's first drop. Mustard-field yellow inside a maroon border, flower butas circling one centre. Yellow and maroon, the colours of a winter wedding, in a scarf you can wear anywhere.
The print: Buta
A buta is a single sprig or flower placed again and again across the cloth; a small one is a buti. It is the oldest way of filling a field in Indian printing and weaving, from Banarasi brocade to Sanganeri block prints, because it lets the ground colour do most of the talking.
How to wear it
Fold it corner to corner and you have a head wrap or a neckerchief. Roll it into a band and it goes round your forehead, your wrist or a ponytail. Knot it through a belt loop or onto a bag strap when you are not wearing it. The guide shows each way step by step.
